My association with Wolfgang Bayha as my teacher had a great influence on me, during my first year at Berklee College of Music in Boston. We worked tegether consistantly, developing concepts and techniques with the drums.
Since that time, I have continued on the work we started and have incorporated Wolfgang's concepts into my own playing style. Because of his early encouragment and teachings I have gone on to graduate Berklee in 1985. I am now playing with the Gary Burton Quintet, travelling all over the world, giving concerts, teaching clinics and tutoring privately. Wolfgang's methods are an integral part of my own teaching style.
I feel that Wolfgang's knowledge and personality would be an asset to anyone who is associated with him, since he was a great force in my own life.
Sincerely, Martin Richards.
