4 years in the USA:
Used to be professionally active as a drummer and a teacher mainly in New York and Boston (i.a. teacher of Marty Richards, who played with Gary Burton for over 10 years). Since 1983 Wolfgang Bayha successfully runs his own independent Drum School in the center of Zurich. Many of his students are internationally active and successful with their own projects.
• 1 year of study with H. Seipel, Zurich Conservatory (drummer of the Tonhalle Orchestra at the time)
• 1 year with Peter Giger, Jazz School Berne (Albert Mangelsdorf, Family of Percussion)
• 2 years of private lessons with Pierre Favre (former drummer of the DRS Big Band)
• 6 months with P. Kaskel, Cologne Conservatory
• 6 months with Billy Brooks (Jazz School Berne)
• studies at the Berklee College of Music, Boston (with Bob Kaufmann and Tony Noterfonzo)
• private lessons with Alan Dawson, Tony Williams's teacher
• private lessons with Gary Chaffee, Vinnie Colaiuta und Steve Smith's teacher
